Manual, Pneumatic and Electric Actuation
Butterfly valves are available with a manual lever or gearbox for standard duties. Where remote or automated control is required, a pneumatic butterfly valve or electric-actuated butterfly valve can be connected to an automated control system.
Hygienic Butterfly Valves
For food, beverage, dairy and brewing lines, hygienic butterfly valves with tri-clamp ends are suitable for standard sanitary pipework. Constructed from polished 316 stainless steel with smooth, crevice-free internal surfaces, they are designed for effective CIP and SIP cleaning without disassembly. Camlocks are also available for flexible hose connections within the same system.

FAQs
What does a butterfly valve do?
A butterfly valve controls flow by rotating an internal disc through a quarter turn. It can fully open or close a pipeline or regulate the amount of product passing through it.
Wafer vs lugged butterfly valve: Which do I need?
Choose a wafer butterfly valve for most standard installations. A lugged butterfly valve is generally better for dead-end service or when one side of the pipework must be removed independently.
When should I choose an actuated butterfly valve?
Choose a pneumatic butterfly valve for remote operation, fast cycling or integration with an automated process. Electric actuation suits sites without compressed air or applications requiring controlled positioning.
What sizes and seat materials are available?
Butterfly valves are stocked from ¾" to 10" with EPDM or PTFE seat options. Seat selection will depend on what is passing through the line and the operating conditions.
